While the rest of society calls these "distractions" and tells you to stop, we see them as opportunities for discovery and world-building. We celebrate the detour because that’s often where the best loot—and the most joy—is found.

It's a simple four-step loop designed to bypass executive dysfunction:

1. Input the Burden: Tell the app which task is making you feel "frozen".
2. Accept the Quest: Our AI translates that task into a thematic, epic quest-line.
3. Slay the Steps: Follow bite-sized objectives that feel like game mechanics.
4. Claim the XP: Check the boxes to clear the mental fog and level up your real-life stats.

Is this just another to-do list with a dragon icon?

Accepted Answer

No. Most apps just put a "coat of paint" on a standard list, which can actually increase pressure and guilt. Only Side Quests uses a Narrative Reframing engine. We don't just list chores; we translate your "Wall of Awful" into critical mission objectives to trigger the dopamine your brain needs to break the "freeze".

What if I get distracted for three hours and don't finish my "Main Quest"?

Then you had a legendary journey! Most spaces ask, "How do we stop that from happening?". At the Tavern, we ask, "What did you discover on your side quest?". We’ve removed the "Main Quest" entirely to eliminate the ADHD guilt that usually kills motivation.

I’m not a "hardcore gamer," nor have I played D&D before. Is this for me?

Absolutely. You don't need to know the difference between a D20 and a percentile die to belong here. We use RPG language as a shorthand for the neurodivergent experience because it's easier to say you "failed an Agility save" than to explain a complex emotional meltdown. If you’ve ever felt like a hero trapped in a boring story, you’re one of us.
